YES, YOU CAN TOO...

If you want to experience a unique gomer-style holiday, you can rent the house for long or short stays.
The house will be ready by march 2011, and you can book the flat from now. Only quiet, meditative guests please: we have a wonderful relationship with the neighbours!! The flat will be as follows (photos will be added as the rooms are ready)

ground floor:

two shops, no noise

first floor:

three bedrooms - two doubles, one single with bunk beds
one large sitting room with a sofa which doubles as two-sleeper plus arm chair and television
one bathroom with small bath and shower
terrace:
kitchen with solar oven and wonderful sea view
dining room as above
washing machine and all facilities

top roof:

breath-taking sitting room open sky

here are the points that make the place ideal:

- it is a typical old style gomera house, there aren't any left.
- ...BUT it has wi-fi and cable connection ...
- it is in the heart of the old town in Vueltas
- the three best beaches are just a few meters down 20 steps
- first line on the sea
- best shops are here
- large confortable rooms
- fully furnished and accessorized
- no damp or mould

and here are a couple of draw-backs you'd better know from the start:

- the Cacatua bar is down the road: friday and saturday nights can be noisy (bearable though)
- the neighbour is the last traditional cake maker left around, she bakes cakes and biscuits in an ancient wood oven, so twice a week you have smell of wood fire wafting in (nice, unless you are alergic to it!)
- the furniture is classic grandma, no plush ikea - but clean and functional

now you can follow all the restauration work and give advice if you like!!

SPAGNOLO ALLA GOMERA?

Il solo fatto che forse non sappiate dov'è La Gomera è una garanzia per la qualità della vacanza-studio... La Gomera è l'isola meno conosciuta delle isole canarie, fuori dai circuiti vacanzieri e con il tipico clima temperato dell'eterna primavera... tranne che siamo in Europa e si parla Castillano!

cliccate sulle varie webcam del posto. Se trovaste nuvoloso non fatevi ingannare: si va sempre comunque con la maglietta a maniche corte!!
Dunque, se volete perfezionare o imparare lo Spagnolo in loco, saremo felici di assistervi per un pacchetto completo: abbiamo selezionato i migliori insegnanti, per cui potete ''tuffarvi'' (letteralmente!!) con fiducia.
Inoltre, su una popolazione di 5000 abitanti, c'è una forte presenza tedesca (1000 ab), per cui se le lingue che volete perfezionare sono due, abbiamo selezionato anche gli insegnanti madrelingua tedeschi. Postate un commento mandate una mail per i dettagli. E... Buone Vacanze!!

solar cooker

you can use the sun to cook in a clean environment friendly way. The cooker can be seen (and bought) as well if you already live in Gomera. The pot is a large 8 liter one and you can boil water in no time at all. The whole thing is resistent to salt and any type of corrosion. The price of 345 euro includes the price of the cooker (eu 284.03) what i paid for post (eu 36) and package (eu 5.46)  and custom duties (24): it all came to eu 349.49). I only used it for two weeks but i must sell it because of biulders starting major work on the house. So you have it here, now, and see it working before you buy it - not a bad advantage!!
